Donor support helps students at Yellowstone Academy discover confidence, creativity, and healing through the YBGR Music Program.
Music has long been a meaningful part of life at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch. For students at Yellowstone Academy, the YBGR Music Program creates opportunities for creativity, expression, learning, and healing through the arts.
With donor and community support, the music program has grown to meet the diverse needs and interests of youth. Generous gifts of equipment have helped expand access to instruments, sound equipment, computers, and creative tools that allow students to explore music in new ways.
As Ron O’Leary, Fine Arts Instructor at Yellowstone Academy, shared, interest in the arts has continued to grow over the years. What once included a smaller collection of instruments has expanded to include guitars, pianos, drums, sound equipment, and digital resources for individualized learning, video tutorials, music creation, and recording.
These resources help students build confidence while discovering new ways to express themselves. Whether learning an instrument, practicing a song, creating music digitally, or recording sound, youth are given the opportunity to develop skills that support creativity, focus, and personal growth.
The YBGR Music Program also helps students experience the joy of learning something new. For many youth, music becomes a healthy outlet and a way to connect with others. It can offer encouragement, belonging, and a sense of accomplishment during important seasons of growth.
