Hope Written in Quiet Places
At King Lodge, some of the most powerful reminders are found in quiet, unexpected places.
Tucked beneath desks and beds at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch are messages written by youth for other youth. These real words are preserved so they can continue offering encouragement to the next child who finds them.
Some messages say, “You are worth it.” Others say, “You’re brave,” or “It’s ok to not be ok. We love you no matter what.”
These notes are simple, but their impact can be profound. They remind youth that they are not alone, that others have walked difficult paths before them, and that hope can still be found in hard moments.
The messages reflect more than words. They show connection, empathy, and the power of peer encouragement within a healing environment.
Yellowstone Foundation is proud to support spaces where youth can feel seen, valued, and encouraged to keep moving forward.
Sometimes hope lives in a few handwritten words, waiting to be found at exactly the right time.
